Yoga in English

In 2008, Nicole began the Saswitha Yoga and Philosophy Training, the oldest yoga teacher training program in the Netherlands. She received her practical diploma in 2010, followed by many years of deepening her practice. Nicole’s yoga classes are easy to follow for beginners and a welcome challenge for those with more experience. The flow of the class is recognizable, which is understandable given her over 30 years as a dance teacher. During the class, the focus is on the group, and afterward, there is time for individual questions and corrections.

After six years, Nicole completed the full Saswitha training, graduating with a thesis focused on the connection between yoga and the history of a great Indonesian epic. In addition to regular classes at the studio, she teaches classes every summer in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos (Haarlem Forest). She has organized several retreats in Italy, and more are coming up this season.

My Yoga classes

Yoga helps you understand your body, bring it into balance, and maintain it. It helps promote health and gives you tools to manage stressors. Yoga practice can help you sleep better and relieve headaches, for example. Pure Yoga offers well-considered classes in a comfortable environment. Give yourself time.

Hatha yoga, the most physical form of yoga, is based on classic yoga postures that are worked towards in a dynamic way. Breathing plays an important, connecting role.

What can yoga do for you?

-Focus.
-Purpose.
-Energy.
-Completeness.

-Satisfaction.

My Aerial Yoga classes

Using a yoga swing, you’ll work on becoming more flexible and stronger. As is customary in a yoga class, every movement is connected to the breath. Relaxation is sought through specific exercises, but that’s not all. Every exercise, no matter how strenuous, focuses on areas of the body that you can relax.

The swing makes it harder, more challenging, and a lot of fun!

I create a new series of lessons for each course. The first lesson is awkward, and you might get tangled up or start laughing. In weeks 2 and 3, things get progressively better, but it often still feels awkward. The power of repetition lies in the final part of the course: now you get to the core. Then it’s time for a new series of exercises, and you’ll take on the challenge again.

There is no trial lesson before the course. You sign up for one 6-week course. After those six weeks, you choose whether you want to take another course.

Kids Yoga

On Monday, we’ll start a short children’s yoga course. This class focuses on motor development and learning how to move in a group. Learn to stand consciously and respond to each other. The yoga classes foster calm and confidence. A great movement class for children!

Monday, 5:00-6:00 PM, starting September 1, 2025

Note: first come, first served! The cost is €385 for a 10-month season.

With yoga, a child can learn to concentrate better and reduce stress. But children’s yoga offers many more benefits. We live in a fast-paced, hectic world. Children also notice this and can be affected by it. They may feel a certain pressure to perform, for example, to get high grades. This can cause stress. In addition, children spend every day in front of the TV, computer, or tablet. They are overloaded with stimuli and have little time to rest. Children’s yoga—offered for children aged three to ten—can change that.

What children’s yoga looks like

Yoga classes for children emphasize relaxation and fun. The classes are tailored to the child’s age and level of fitness. During children’s yoga, various poses and movements are alternated with moments of rest, during which attention is also paid to breathing. For example, your child will learn how to relax with abdominal breathing. Yoga teaches children to treat each other respectfully. After all, it’s not a competition. Everyone does it at their own pace.
